Registration at the Ahornbahn Overnight guests will be welcomed at our White Lounge Counter which is located in the Ahorn Shop at the Ahornbahn bottom station ( See directions). There is sufficient parking available. We kindly ask our guests to register at the counter before 4:00 pm. You forgot something? No problem, in the Ahorn Shop you can buy everything you need (especially clothing) for a night in an igloo. If you arrive earlier and want to spend the day on Ahorn Mountain and/or want to go skiing you can of course register earlier for your accommodation. The cable car takes you to the Ahornbahn mountain station where you can deposit all your luggage on the White Lounge luggage cart. At 5:00 pm, our igloo guides will transport everything to the White Lounge. Your igloo suite will be ready at 5:00 pm. Ascent While the last day visitors ski down the 5.5 kilometers long Ahorn run towards the valley, our overnight guests will be taken up to the Ahorn Plateau by the new Ahornbahn, covering a distance of 3 km. Enjoy a sensational view while being lifted up to almost 2000 meters in Austria's largest cable car! Important: last ascent at 4:30 pm! Arrival on the Ahorn Plateau and hike to the White Lounge On arrival at Ahorn Mountain (whether at 4:30 pm or earlier), please deposit your luggage on the luggage cart of the igloo hotel. Afterwards, take a short hike via the Panorama Trail to the igloo hotel (approx. 5-10 minutes). Your igloo guide awaits you at the White Lounge reception. Meeting with welcome drink & check-in At 5:00 pm all day guests have left the Ahorn Plateau. A hot welcome drink is waiting for you in the lounge where you will be introduced to our White Lounge team. Get to know each other while breathing fresh igloo air for the first time. Your igloo guide will take you to your suite and provide you with some first tips. Introduction and White Lounge village tour with your igloo guide There will be a detailed introduction in the main igloo. You will learn about the basics concerning alpine risks, the impact such height has on your body and soul, about dos and don'ts and the climate at 2000 m. Your igloo guide will tell you about the construcion of the igloos and explain how to properly use the expedition sleeping bags which are already awaiting you in your igloo suite Arrive and relax Already before dinner you have time to enjoy the various opportunities the White Lounge has to offer. Take a tour with your igloo guide or spend some romantic hours in your igloo suite with a bottle of champagne. Leisurely walk and dinner Around 6:30 pm you walk to the new restaurant, the FREIRAUM, where a delicious menu with several courses will be served at around 7:00 pm. Enjoy the comfortable atmosphere, the amazing view and of course the excellent cuisine. Exciting torch hike and romantic bonfire After dinner, at around 8:30 pm, the real magic of a night at the White Lounge begins. With a torch you walk through the snow-covered mountain scenery to different stations, past the panorama platform, and back to the White Lounge. Warm up at the bonfire, roast some tasty marshmallows and look at the twinkling stars in the clear nightsky. The perfect opportunity to show or improve your astronomy knowledge! Open end Have another drink at the snow bar, chat with the other guess at the bonfire, or withdraw to your suite for some romantic hours. How you spend your evening is up to you. No noisy Après-Ski atmosphere, no annoying entertainers, no stress - after all we are not on Majorca but in the middle of the Zillertal Alps.
Of course, the whole White Lounge crew is available at any time. The igloo guides also spend the night on the mountain. During the night Of course, you can decide yourself when you want to go to bed. An igloo guide will be on stand-by the whole night just in case you need something, don't feel well or can't sleep. But don't worry: If you pay attention during the introduction, you will definitely not feel cold during the night. Quite the contrary, you will sleep like a baby! A new day at the White Lounge Leisurely breakfast / check-out In the morning, your igloo guides will wake you up at around 8:00 am.
You check-out at the igloo reception and return your keys.
Afterwards a hearty breakfast awaits you in the White Lounge. Exchange experiences with other guests, leave a message in our guest book and enjoy the breakfast. Special service for skiers: During the night you can deposit your skiing equipment in our storage room where you can fetch it after breakfast together with your warm (!) ski boots. Goodbye At around 9:00 am it's time to say goodbye. Winter sport enthusiasts are probably already on tour by then since it's everybody's dream to be the first on the slopes! Having the 5.5 kilometers long, freshly groomed valley run for yourself is really incredible!!! If you want to stay up on the Ahorn Plateau you may sit back in one of the cozy deck chairs at one of the neighboring huts or at the White Lounge. The igloo bar opens at 10:00 am. Of course, it's up to you when you take the Ahornbahn cable car down to the valley. An unforgettable night lies behind us and a new day is still ahead amidst the fascinating mountain scenery of the Zillertal. |
