Overnight guests will be welcomed at our White Lounge Reception Desk which is located in the Ahorn Shop at the new Ahornbahn bottom station (see map of how to get there), there is sufficient parking available. We kindly ask our guests to register at the reception desk before 4:00 pm (16.00h). You forgot something? No problem: you can buy everything you need (especially clothing) for a night in an igloo in our Ahorn Shop. If you arrive earlier and want to spend the day on Mount Ahorn and/or want to go skiing, you can, of course, register earlier for your accommodation at the reception desk. You take your luggage to the mountain station of the Ahornbahn cable car; there you can deposit all your luggage which will then be brought to the White Lounge by our Igloo Guides. Your Igloo Suite will be ready for occupancy from 5:00 pm (17:00h).

 

While the last day visitors ski down the 5.5 kilometers long Ahorn run towards the valley, at 4:00 pm, all of our overnight guests will be taken up to the Ahorn Plateau by the new Ahornbahn, covering a distance of 3km. Enjoy a sensational view while being lifted up to almost 2000 meters in Austria’s biggest cable car! Important: last ascent at 4.30pm!

 

On arrival at Mount Ahorn (whether at 4:30 pm or earlier), deposit your luggage on the Igloo Hotel luggage car. Afterwards, take a short hike via the Panoramic Loop Trail to the Igloo Hotel (approx. 5-10 minutes). Register at the Igloo Bar. 

 

At 5:00 pm, all day guests have left the Ahorn Plateau. A hot welcome drink is waiting for you in the lounge of the main igloo building. You will be introduced to our White Lounge team and learn about the further course of the evening. Get to know each other while inhaling fresh igloo air for the first time

 

There will be a detailed introduction in the Main Igloo. You will learn about the basics concerning alpine risks, the impact such height has on your body and soul, about dos and don’ts as well as the climate at 2000 m. Your Igloo Guide will explain how to properly use the thermo sleeping bags which are already awaiting you in your Igloo Suite.

Moving into your Igloo Suite

After the introduction at approximately 5:30 pm you will receive the key to your Igloo Suite so you can move in. Which piece of snow art will you find in your suite? Far up on Mount Ahorn in the Zillertal, a comfortable evening begins…

 

While the Igloo Guides are preparing your dinner, you can start your evening as you wish:

At 7:00 pm (19:00h), all guests meet in the Dining Igloo where a delicious dinner is being served; starting with a hearty soup (mostly potato soup), afterwards Fondue Chinoise (meat fondue in soup) with sirloin of turkey or beef along with baked potatos with sour cream. Additionally, various sauces and pastries are served.

  

Show or improve your astronomy knowledge with the stars close at hand. Have another sauna, enjoy another drink or a schnaps at our Snow Bar, debate at our campfire, play something or move back to your Igloo Suite for some romantic hours – how you gonna spend your night at the White Lounge is up to you: without the classical après-ski atmosphere, without stress, and without annoying entertainers – after all, we are not in Majorca but in the middle of the Zillertal Alps!

Of course the whole White Lounge Crew will be there for you any time; the Igloo Guides will spend the night on the mountain with you.

Of course you can decide yourself when you want to go to bed in your Igloo Suite. An Igloo Guide will be on stand-by the whole night, just in case you need something, don’t feel well or can’t fall asleep. But don't worry: If you pay attention during the introduction, you will definitely not be too cold during the night, quite the contrary: you will sleep like a baby!

About 7:00 am, the igloo guides will wake you up. If you wish, we can wake you up earlier, in case you want to watch how the day is befalling the mountain peaks. Please prepare your luggage already before breakfast; we will bring your bags to the mountain station. For skiiers: During the night, your skis will be deposited in our storage room where you will find them after breakfast along with your warm (!) ski boots..

Already before breakfast, you check out, pay your drinks at the Igloo Bar and return your keys. Afterwards, you enjoy your breakfast in the neighbouring Filzenstadl.

Together we will walk to the neighbouring hut, the “Filzenstadl”, where the innkeeper is already waiting with a hearty breakfast. Exchange your experiences with the other igloo guests, leave a message in our guestbook and enjoy a breakfast in the warm hut. 

At about 9:00 am it’s time to finally say goodbye. Winter sport enthusiasts are probably already on tour by then since it's everybody's dream to be the first on the slopes! Having the 5.5 kilometers long, freshly groomed valley run for yourself is just incredible!!! If you want to stay a little longer on the Ahorn Plateau you may sit back in a deck chair at one of the neighboring huts or at the White Lounge. The White lounge Igloo Bar opens at 10:00 am. Of course it's up to you when you want to go down to the valley with the Ahornbahn.

 

An unforgettable night lies behind us and a new day is still ahead with a breathtaking alpine view of the Zillertal.
